The Global Talent route – for individuals with exceptional talent or exceptional promise

Wednesday 11 December 2024

The Global Talent route is available for individuals with exceptional talent or exceptional promise in fields of science, engineering, humanities, social science, medicine, digital technology and arts and culture. An application under the Global Talent route typically involves two stages – applying for endorsement from the relevant endorsing body and an application for immigration permission.

Permission under the Global Talent route is not tied to an employer and is not contingent on sponsorship, providing the individual with flexibility to change employers, take up self-employment or start their own business. There is an added advantage of potentially being eligible for settlement after residing in the UK for three years, earlier than the usual five-year residence requirement applicable to some other routes such as Skilled Worker.

In the context of the digital technology sector, the endorsement application should be submitted to  Tech Nation, the Home Office designated endorsing body, and Tech Nation will consider both technical and business applications. There are strict rules concerning the documents that Tech Nation will accept and we have extensive experience working with applicants to compile the strongest letters and supporting evidence, which is crucial to success of an endorsement application.

At Laura Devine Immigration, we regularly assist with Global Talent applications across all fields and endorsing bodies. For further information, please contact your designated LDI lawyer or enquiries@lauradevine.com.
