Yokabet is a Trainee Solicitor in our UK immigration team. She advises both corporate and private clients on a broad range of UK immigration and nationality matters, supporting businesses and individuals through complex immigration processes and providing practical, commercially focused advice. She has nearly a decade of experience working in the immigration sector, both providing a people-focused approach to supporting clients in a wide range of circumstances and executing internal project-based initiatives to support client work.

Yokabet has experience spanning a variety of UK immigration routes. She supports and advises businesses on sponsorship and compliance-related matters, including sponsor licence compliance obligations, right to work requirements, recruitment planning and ongoing immigration compliance. She also assists clients with sponsor licence applications, changes to sponsorship arrangements and strategic immigration advice relating to workforce mobility. She regularly supports sponsor organisations’ migrant workforce on all aspects of preparing and submitting UK immigration applications for themselves and their families.

In addition to her corporate immigration work, Yokabet regularly advises private clients on a range of personal immigration and nationality matters requiring strategic advice and detailed case preparation. Her experience includes personal immigration matters relating to areas such as EU Settlement Scheme, family, settlement and nationality applications. She advises and supports clients through all stages of the application process, from initial assessment and evidence gathering, through to application preparation and post-decision support.

Yokabet works with clients across a range of sectors, supporting both multinational and small organisations in the financial, technology, legal, insurance and retail industries. Her role includes day-to-day client and case management, the preparation of complex applications, and legal research. She is committed to delivering clear, practical advice and ensuring clients feel supported throughout the immigration process.

Prior to joining the UK immigration team and undertaking her training contract, Yokabet was a Senior Paralegal in our US immigration team in London. During this time, she supported corporate clients on a wide range of business immigration matters, including H-1B/E-3 specialty occupation, L-1 blanket and individual, O-1 extraordinary ability and E-2 treaty investor visa applications. She worked closely with employers and individuals to prepare non-immigrant visa petitions and supported clients in managing their workforce’s immigration needs. Alongside her corporate immigration experience, Yokabet has extensive experience working on family-based and employment-based immigrant visa petitions (green card applications).

Yokabet’s combined UK and US immigration background provides her with a unique skills set for UK and US clients needing a transatlantic perspective and an understanding of the challenges faced by both businesses and individuals navigating global mobility requirements.
