Zeena Luchowa writes for Free Movement

Monday 15 July 2024

LDI Partner Zeena Luchowa has written an article for Free Movement entitled ‘eVisas: who is affected and what steps to take now‘. This article discusses the Home Office’s introduction of eVisas and plans to digitalise the UK immigration system by 2025. The transition to eVisas involves creating a UKVI account, linking the eVisa, completing an identity check and adding travel documents, with specific challenges for those currently relying on physical documents.

With BRPs expiring on 31 December 2024, up to four million people must transition to eVisas or risk adverse consequences. However, communication about setting up eVisas has posed challenges, and the full operational timeframe remains to be seen.
