Immigration and nationality fees to increase from 4 October 2023

Friday 15 September 2023

Following an announcement on Thursday 13 July 2023 that the Government would increase immigration and nationality application fees, the Home Office has today confirmed that fees will rise from Wednesday 4 October 2023. These changes arise in contravention of the conventional 21-day notice period and include increases to the following:

  • fees for visit visas;
  • majority of fees for entry clearance and certain applications for leave to remain in the UK including those for work and study;
  • fees for indefinite leave to enter and indefinite leave to remain;
  • fees in relation to assigning certificates of sponsorship and confirmation of acceptance for studies;
  • in-country and overseas fees for the super priority service and the overseas fee for the priority service. The settlement priority service will reduce so it is aligned with the cost of using the priority service;
  • Health and Care visa fees;
  • applications for registration and naturalisation as a British citizen;
  • Refugee Convention travel document and stateless person’s travel document; and
  • user fees for certain overseas Visa Application Centres.

The full list of new fees can be accessed here. Please note that these changes do not include the announced increase to the Immigration Health Surcharge, which the Government indicated today shall be introduced later in the Autumn.
