Christi Jackson quoted in The Financial Times on increasing US visa restrictions
Monday 9 February 2026
Christi Hufford Jackson has been quoted in the Financial Times in an article titled ‘US embassy in London denies visas to executives over minor offences’.
Reports indicate that the US embassy in London has been refusing visas under the 214(b) rule – a broad provision which allows consular officers to deny applications where an individual has not sufficiently demonstrated eligibility.
Christi says:
‘In our experience, anybody that has a criminal irregularity — no matter how minor — is unlikely to obtain a visitor visa, and in some cases even a work visa, from London right now… We are telling clients with existing visas that they should guard them with their lives.’
