Wilfrid Boon is a Solicitor in Laura Devine Immigration’s Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) team, where he plays a central role in maintaining and developing the firm’s technical expertise, thought leadership and policy engagement. Having joined the firm as a Paralegal in 2018, Wilfrid spent five years advising on a broad range of immigration matters before qualifying as a Solicitor and joining the PSL team in 2023.

Drawing on this experience, Wilfrid works closely with lawyers across LDI to analyse legislative and policy developments, deliver training and presentations, and develop knowledge resources that ensure clients benefit from advice informed by the latest developments in immigration law and policy. He undertakes in-depth research across a wide range of complex immigration and nationality matters and contributes to the firm’s technical excellence through the sharing of knowledge and best practice.

Wilfrid is actively involved in the firm’s thought leadership and business development initiatives. He regularly contributes articles, legal updates and technical commentary for external publications, the firm’s website and social media channels. He also supports client engagement initiatives, including webinars, training programmes and events involving key stakeholders from across the immigration sector. In addition, he assists in overseeing the firm’s Enquiries team, helping to ensure prospective and existing clients receive an exceptional and seamless service from their first interaction with the firm.

A particular area of focus for Wilfrid is immigration policy. Together with the PSL team, he helps lead Laura Devine Immigration’s influential work in this area, contributing evidence to public consultations, preparing policy briefings and submissions, engaging with parliamentary committees and working directly with government stakeholders on developments in UK immigration law and policy. He also supports the firm’s media engagement activities, helping to reinforce LDI’s reputation as a leading voice in the immigration sector.
