EU citizens, family members and their employers
The UK left the EU on 31 January 2020. EEA/Swiss nationals and their family members had to enter the UK by the end of the transition period (31 December 2020) to qualify for status under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS), which closed for most applicants on 30 June 2021 (but remains open for applicants in certain circumstances).
From providing expert advice and representation in complex matter to coordinating training and driving long-term strategic planning, we are working with businesses and individuals to help prepare for, navigate through and meet these forthcoming challenges.
Business services
Our solicitors work with employers in a number of ways to support and reassure their EU workforce and plan ahead to protect businesses from future changes.
Services include:
- advising businesses on post-Brexit immigration solutions;
- offering in-house seminars on the implications of Brexit;
- providing in-house advice sessions with staff to discuss the steps EU nationals and their family members can take, as well as the applications they can submit, to secure their immigration status in the UK; and
- auditing the composition of any workforces to identify affected staff.
Individual services
We provide strategic advice on the immigration implications of Brexit and what it means for individuals and families.
We advise on the following applications:
- applications under the EUSS (including late applications);
- permanent residence (PR) documentation;
- naturalisation of European nationals;
- residence cards for qualifying family members; and
- derivative residence cards as well as applications for those who have retained the right of residence.
