Literary Lounge with Philippe Sands KC in support of The Baobab Centre
On Wednesday 19 November 2025, Laura Devine Immigration hosted a Literary Lounge with Philippe Sands KC on his book 38 Londres Street: On Impunity, Pinochet in England, and a Nazi in Patagonia.
Philippe Sands KC is a Professor of Laws at University College London and a barrister at 11 King’s Bench Walk. A specialist in international law, Philippe appears as counsel before many international courts and tribunals and serves as an arbitrator on the International Court of Justice, the European Court of Human Rights, and the International Criminal Court. He is the author of several best-selling and prize-winning books, including East West Street (winner of the 2016 Baillie Gifford Prize), The Ratline and The Last Colony
A raffle on the evening benefitted The Baobab Centre which is a non-residential therapeutic community that supports young survivors of human rights abuses seeking refuge in the UK.
