Literary Lounge with Ayobami Adebayo in support of The Norwich Foodbank
On Thursday 27 February 2025, Laura Devine Immigration was pleased to host a Literary Lounge with Ayobami Adebayo where she discussed her book Stay With Me.
Stay With Me won the 9mobile Prize for Literature and Prix Les Afriques. It was shortlisted for the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction, the Wellcome Book Prize and the Kwani Manuscript project and was named a Notable Book of the Year by The New York Times and a Best Book of the Year by The Guardian. Ayobami was interviewed by the filmmaker Joanna Lipper who is directing a musical feature film adaptation of Stay With Me.
A raffle on the evening benefited The Norwich Foodbank which supports local individuals and families who find themselves on the edge of disaster through the provision of nutritionally balanced emergency food boxes to cover an individual or family’s basic needs for 72 hours: the critical time gap before other support services kick in.
