Lionel Shriver book event in support of Free Speech Union

On Tuesday 8 November from 6:30pm, we welcome Lionel Shriver who will be discussing her new book Abominations: Selected Essays from a Career of Courting Self-Destruction, bringing together thirty-five works curated from her many columns, features, essays, and op-eds.

Lionel is an award-winning American author and journalist living in London. Her journalistic contributions have been published in outlets including the Economist, the Guardian, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Spectator. Lionel’s novels include the National Book Award finalist So Much for That, the New York Times bestseller The Post-Birthday World, and the international bestseller We Need to Talk About Kevin, which she received the Orange Prize for in 2005.

A raffle on the night will benefit a charity of the author’s choice, the Free Speech Union – a mass membership organisation dedicated to upholding free speech.
