James Naughtie Literary Lounge in support of Social Bite

On Wednesday 29 March 2023, we will welcome James Naughtie to our Literary Lounge to read an excerpt from his latest novel – The Spy Across the Water.

This novel is the third instalment in James’ brilliant spy series, woven around three brothers bound together forever through espionage. Will Flemyng, originally trained as a spy, is now the British ambassador to the United States in Washington. Meanwhile, his older brother Mungo is recuperating from a heart attack in their beloved family home in the Scottish Highlands. Abel, the youngest of the three, has died mysteriously in America.

James Naughtie is a British radio and news presenter for the BBC, hosting the Today Programme for 21 years, covering the UK election results since 1997 and every US presidential election since 1988.

A raffle on the night will benefit a charity of the author’s choice, Social Bite – a charity and social business providing homes, jobs, food, and support to empower people to transform their own lives by pioneering solutions that create lasting change.
