Beanstalk Charity Book Event

On Wednesday 16 June 2018, Laura Devine Solicitors hosted a book event with William Sitwell, one of Britain’s foremost food writers and an editor, critic, TV and radio presenter who has won multiple awards.

William Sitwell gave a reading from his most recent book Eggs or Anarchy, which tells the remarkable tale of how Minister of Food Lord Woolton fed Britain in World War II.

Thanks to the generosity of those who attended, we raised a total of £500 for Beanstalk.

Beanstalk recruits, trains and supports volunteers to provide one-to-one literacy support to primary school children.
