Through generous participation in the charity raffle which took place at this event, we raised a fantastic £520 for English PEN.

On Thursday 12 May 2016, LDS hosted a terrace BBQ event with guest speakers David Garrido, Sky Sports presenter, and John Wroe, CEO and founder of Street Child United.
Thanks to the generosity of those who attended, a charity raffle helped raise an impressive £1,020 for Street Child United.
Street Child United work with a global community of grassroots organisations to protect and support street children. This is primarily achieved through the organisation of international sports events for street children.

LDS hosted a book reading event on Thursday 3 March 2016 with Elif Shafak, Turkey’s most read woman writer and an award winning novelist. Elif gave a reading from her highly acclaimed novel ‘The Architect’s Apprentice’.
Thanks to the generosity of those who attended, the event managed to raise £600 for Free Word Centre.
Elif is an author for Free Word Centre, an international charity dedicated to literature, literacy and free expression.

On Thursday 28 January 2016, LDS hosted a reception with Fulham Opera, one of the UK’s premier independent professional companies. The reception featured performances including scenes from ‘Rigoletto’ and ‘Flying Dutchman’.
We are pleased to announce that £700 was raised for Fulham Opera thanks to the magnificent donations of those who attended.
Fulham Opera is West London's Premier Independent Opera Company, and aim to deliver high quality, imaginative stagings of large operatic works in the intimate space of St. John’s Church, Fulham.

Laura Devine Solicitors hosted an event on Thursday 30 July 2015 with Sir Christopher Meyer, former British Ambassador to the United States.
Thanks to the generosity of those who attended we raised in excess of £1,000 for Parents and Abducted Children Together (PACT).
PACT's mission is to put an end to the tragedy of missing and abducted children and to campaign for fundamental improvements in child protection policies and practices and the HO has recently partnered with PACT to raise awareness.

On Tuesday 2 June, LDS hosted an event with Alice Lascelles, drinks writer for the FT, Times columnist and author of 'Ten Cocktails: The Art of Convivial Drinking'.
Thanks to the very generous donations of those who attended we raised a total of £1,250 for Nordoff Robbins.
Nordoff Robbins is a national music therapy charity dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults across the UK.

Laura Devine Solicitors hosted an event with Iqbal Khan, Director of Othello at the Royal Shakespeare Company on Thursday 26 February 2015.
Iqbal spoke about his vision for Othello and his work with Box Clever, a charity devoted to working with young people in underprivileged schools through theatre. Actor, David Ajao performed a preview of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice.

Laura Devine Solicitors held a charity book event on Thursday 18 September 2014 with Tracy Chevalier, award winning writer and author of ‘Girl With a Pearl Earring’.

Fine Cell Work is a social enterprise that trains prisoners in paid, skilled, creative needlework undertaken in the long hours spent in their cells to foster hope, discipline and self-esteem.

Population Matters is a membership charity that addresses population size and environmental sustainability. They conduct research, inform the public and advocate improved family planning and sex education, women’s empowerment, smaller families and moderate consumption.

On Monday 12 May 2014, Laura Devine Solicitors hosted a book reading event with Helen Giltrow, who read from her debut novel ‘The Distance’.
The event raised a wonderful £1,000 for the Shannon Trust.
The Shannon Trust aims to transform the lives of prisoners by inspiring prisoners who can read, to teach prisoners who cannot. By providing learners with opportunities to develop life skills, it better equips them to live as contributing members of society.

Laura Devine Solicitors hosted a book reading event on Wednesday 23 April 2014 with John Everard, former British ambassador to Belarus, Uruguay and North Korea. John gave a reading of his book ‘Only Beautiful Please: A British Diplomat in North Korea’.
Following a charity raffle and some generous donations from those who attended, the event raised £1,000 for the Youth Hostel Association (YHA) of England and Wales.
The YHA is a member of Hostelling International, an international federation of hostel associations. It works in various fields, eg youth activity, the environment, education, in partnership with other organisations within the voluntary sector, national government, and local government.

On Thursday 23 January 2014, LDS hosted a charity book reading event with novelist, playwright, journalist and critic Louise Doughty who gave a reading from her book ‘Apple Tree Yard’. The event was introduced by Sue Wilkinson MBE, Chief Executive of The Reading Agency.
